The Crew List Index Project CLIP was set up to improve access to the records of British merchant seafarers of the late 19th century and has gathered the largest database of entries from crew lists.CONTENT
This site states the following, "Welcome to CLIP - the Crew List Index Project." We noticed that the web site also said " CLIP is a not-for-profit volunteer project, set up to assist research into the records of British merchant seafarers of the late 19th and early 20th century." It also stated " Over the last twenty years we have worked with hundreds of people and many archives around the world to make the largest database of seafarers records and provide unique resources which are widely used by maritime researchers. Welcome to the new CLIP web site. We hope you like it." The header had CLIP as the highest ranking keyword. It was followed by Crew List Index Project, merchant seamen, and British merchant navy which isn't as ranked as highly as CLIP. The next words the site uses is seafarers. crew was also included and might not be viewed by web crawlers.SEEK MORE BUSINESSES
